Portrait Commissions

Here you can read about my approach to portraiture and find the pricing for works of different sizes.

A portrait is not a photograph painted in color.
It is the art of seeing a person beyond appearance, of capturing what makes them who they are.

I create lively, recognizable images.
Resemblance is not accidental — it is the result of careful observation, knowledge of anatomy, light, and form.
Each work is created using a multi-layered technique — the very method masters have used for centuries to achieve depth, breath, and inner light.

This is how not just an image is born, but a presence.
A portrait that remains understandable and close even across generations.

To demonstrate a high level of technical mastery, I have made a dozen copies of works by world-renowned masters, including Bouguereau, Winterhalter, Cabanel, and others.
As you can see in the photos below (the paintings are by me), these copies are technically on par with the originals and confirm that my works are worthy of being displayed not only in museums but also in private and corporate collections and galleries.

Why people choose my portraits

Likeness and recognizability.
Each portrait preserves the character, gaze, and personal intonation — what a photo cannot convey.

Classical technique.
Multi-layer painting gives depth of color and longevity — the painting keeps its freshness for decades.

Individual approach.
Every work is created from the image of a specific person, taking into account their character and environment.

Timeless aesthetics.
Paintings made according to the laws of the classical school remain relevant — because they are based on the eternal principles of beauty and form.

How the work proceeds
Introduction and idea discussion.
We define the format, size, and mood of the portrait.

Preparatory stage.
A photo base or a short life session is possible — to capture the person’s living presence.

Painting in the studio.
The work is done in several stages — from underpainting to final glazes.

Approval and framing.
You see the finished painting, choose a frame and the presentation format.

Delivery of the painting.
Each canvas is signed, varnished, and ready for display.

Pricing
The base price is €40 per square inch — the artist’s net price.

For example:
A 20×30 cm portrait will cost €3 716.80

Accordingly:
40×50 cm — €12 402.00
50×60 cm — €18 602.80
60×80 cm — €29 720.40
80×100 cm — €49 600.40

Please note that these calculations are based solely on surface area and base rate. Other factors — such as complexity, materials, and any additional services — may affect the final price.

Each commission is discussed individually.
The main reference point is the level of execution and a result that will bring joy for decades.
